WE MAKE OUR LIVING ON OUR COWHERD, STRIVING TO RAISE GENETICS WITH FORM AND FUNCTION. GENETICS WHICH COMMERCIAL CATTLEMEN CAN BUILD A FOUNDATION ON, GET PAID FOR, AND MAKE A LIVING. IT'S THE BOTTOM LINE THAT COUNTS.

Our purebred cow herd began with females from producers that we were both involved with and looked up to before we purchased cows.
The red angus herd stems from cow families that were bred by Ron Devolane, Travis' great uncle, who had a tremendous small group of Red Angus females for many years near Olds, AB. Travis bought the last cows Ron had before his retirement, and was always happy to incorporate Ron's advice and guidance while he was around. The Hereford cows came largely from southern Saskatchewan, where Becky grew up. From being involved with the Duke family, Travis and Becky have blended genetics from the Square-D program to those from many other reputable breeders throughout the country.
The cows, while being purebred, are run entirely as a commercial herd would be, with few exceptions. We aim to have the herd working and functioning as an accurate representation of any herd that our bulls might breed for. The cows are pastured on grass during summer months, and pushed onto stubble for fall grazing until as late in the season as the weather will permit. Once winter inhibits grazing, the cattle are fed mixtures of hay, greenfeed, and straw right through until June. The cow herd is not fed grain at any point in time, to try and maintain profit margins.
