Red R-Line Headline 5B is a bull that we are very proud of. As a bull calf he was Reserve Champion Senior Bull Calf at both the Canadian Red Roundup Bull Futurity, and the National Angus Show at Canadian Western Agribition. He was an extraordinary calf from the time he hit the ground, and never gave up his exceptionally 'complete package' from the time he was shown as a calf, weaned, and through until breeding his first three seasons. He has not been pampered. We took Headline off grain as soon as he came home from Agribition as a calf, and we made the decision to run him as a working bull, rather than to risk his structural integrity and keep him on feed -- but you wouldn't know it from looking at him! Headline kept his condition and has bred three years for us, keeping well over 3/4 of his cows in the first cycle, and has proved to be a consistent low birthweight and easy calving herd sire. His calves come small and unassisted, they hit the ground running, and they grow with a vengeance. We have kept all of Headline's daughters as replacements so far, and his bull calves weaned off as some of our heaviest calves. Performance does not lack in his sire group.
